FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE VETERAN AGENT SHAWN BURNS LAUNCHES NEW BELOW-THE-LINE AGENCY ROCKET SCIENCE TALENT Los Angeles, CA (January 20, 2010) - Shawn Burns, who spent over ten years as an agent for Sandra Marsh, today announced the formation of Rocket Science Talent, Inc., a new below-the-line agency that will specialize in representing leading talent from the areas of Visual Effects, Special Effects and Creature & Make-Up Effects. As the only agent to specialize in effects department heads, Burns created Rocket Science Talent to provide innovative representation and to continue to offer the entertainment industry the services of some of the most creative minds working today. "Though there are a few implications to the phrase 'Rocket Science,' when I came across the definition 'an endeavor requiring great intelligence or technical ability,' it seemed a fitting description of the task assigned the talented individuals working behind the scenes in film and television, especially those in the effects industry. Thus the name Rocket Science Talent was adopted." Joe: The Rise of Cobra), Academy Award-winner Scott Squires (Fantastic 4: Rise of the Silver Surfer), James Tichenor (The Twilight Saga: Eclipse - 2nd Unit) and Academy Award-nominee Dean Wright (The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian); Visual Effects Producers Rhonda Gunner (G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra) and Robin Griffin (I Am Legend); Special Effects Coordinators Garry Elmendorf (It's Complicated) and Andy Williams (Sex and the City 2); Academy Award-winning Creature & Makeup Effects Designers Alec Gillis and Tom Woodruff Jr. (X-Men Origins: Wolverine) and Digital Intermediate Colorist Michael Hatzer (2012). Prior to her start as an agent, Burns worked in film production management and visual effects production. She began her entertainment career operating in several aspects of the music industry including artist and concert promotion, as well as publicity, soundtrack production, and long form music video distribution within the record labels Elektra/Asylum and Island Records.
